The warrior stands at the edge of a cliff
His heart full and heavy
Today he does not want to feel
He just wants to breathe
Satiating his lungs 
Until the blue fire in him subsidies

The world he lives in has no name
It is heaven, and it is hell
Where anxiety and hope collide
Two titans battling for control
Often leaving him broken and alone
Yet the same forces that break him
Piece him back together with strength and love

He doesn't just want to survive 
He wants to live
He would rather feel the pain
Knowing he is alive
Than be a ghost walking by

He would rather dance with madness 
Than feel nothing
For he lives in a world where most
Have sold their best 
In exchange for something worst

While they laugh at him
He pities their cowardice
For they are soulless beings
Beautiful but only bones
Masks parading through 
Corpses pretending to feel

The warrior lives through his actions
Until the voice of silence comes to collect him
Forcing him to face the fatal reality
Where the shoes of life are surrendered
Leaving behind only his footprints on sand
Yet the warrior does not fear
He does not look back

He lives his life each day with purpose
During his quiet moments he surrenders to life
An ecstasy soulless people can't experience nor identify

His wrestles spirit and tenacious mind 
Always searching
Always wanting to know why
Gently his spirit whispers...
"Let my steps defy mortal fragility
Let my footprints be a candle in the night
May those who feel lost and blind,
Find comfort in knowing they are not alone.
They will make it through the dark night"
"May they leave their own marks
May they cherish this life
Although painful and bleak at times
Our journey here is but a short one"
"Do not fear death
It is just an old friend stopping by
Here to guide you back to spirit
Where the sea of life will baptize you
To its waters you will sweetly succumb
Until you are renewed and restored"

"Out of darkness once more you will rise
Full of fire and light
Wisdom will fill your heart
As you take a new breath in life"

Where others fear life's sentence
Living and dying time after time
The warrior fears nothing
For he is here to guide

With a thunderous voice he shouts
"You will not destroy my spirit
You will not chain me down
For I am more than my identity
I am serenity and intensity"

"You can haunt me down
Humiliate and try to break me
You can vilify me and hate me
Still I will stand...
For I am divinity made flesh
And the power I've been given
It's only mine to command!"
