Winter Solstice and the Wisdom Years Ahead
Written by Cheryl Richardson Views: 39977

I woke this morning to a nice surprise – a feeling of excitement for the New Year. After so much loss, I’ve wondered whether I’d ever feel the kind of energy and enthusiasm for life that I had before.
Grief has a way of enveloping us in a cloud of darkness, and it’s good to finally see some light. How fitting, given that today we celebrate the Winter Solstice and the gradual return of longer and brighter days.
Some of my excitement has to do with our “Exploring the Wisdom Years” Zoom gatherings. I’ve been keeping a list of topics from the emails you’ve sent (you can share your ideas via ) and, as a result, I’ve scheduled a couple of interesting conversations in January.
January Wisdom Years Conversations
First, on Wednesday, January 7th at 3pm ET, I’ve invited Everett Considine to join me to talk about the remarkable way he uses Internal Family Systems parts work to help people build a peaceful relationship with food. His work has been enormously helpful to me on my journey toward a healthier mind and body, and I’m excited to share his approach with you. You can learn about Everett and his work here.
Then, on Wednesday, January 14th, at 3pm ET, I’ll be joined by Dr. Andrew Hahn, author of The One Hour Miracle, to discuss the groundbreaking trauma therapy protocol he’s developed over the last 30 years. Andy defines trauma as “anything that happened that we couldn’t handle,” and his protocol helps clients effectively release trauma at the root of issues like chronic pain, addiction, depression, anxiety, creative blocks, destructive relationship patterns, and more – sometimes in one or two sessions!
I’ve experienced this work first-hand and, trust me, you won’t want to miss our conversation. You might want to check out his book before the gathering to get the most from our conversation. You can find it here.
Stepping Into the Wisdom Years Together
Focusing on strengthening our emotional, physical and spiritual health in order to enjoy a rich and satisfying life at midlife and beyond means taking steps to make the changes we know we need to make sooner rather than later. That’s the biggest takeaway from watching loved ones who were unprepared and struggled with aging.
The reality seems to be that the older we get, the harder it is to make changes, so I’d like our exploration of the wisdom years to inspire us, together, to act now.
Your interest and participation in our Zoom gatherings have made all the difference to me, and I look forward to more conversations with you in 2026. For now, go easy. Relax. Rest. Enjoy loved ones (yourself most of all!) and get ready for some fun, inspiration, and loving support in the New Year!
Love,
Cheryl
