Jupiter is now in an exact conjunction with Uranus in Taurus.

As with all Jupiter conjunctions to the outer spiritual triad, this has important implications for every sign, since this powerful union only occurs every 13 years. Where it falls shows where we will have a long term awakening in our lives and how we can find expanded opportunities using social and emotional power to claim a new life reward for many years to come.

Every time Jupiter conjuncts a planet outside of its orbit, it sets major collective expansions into motion for the next 13-20 years. This is its final conjunction with planets outside its orbit; from now on it will journey through all the other aspects to Pluto, Neptune, and Uranus until February 2033 when it again begins the next set of conjunctions with Pluto, Neptune, and Uranus.

This is the first Jupiter conjunct Uranus since they made 3 conjunctions between June 2010 and January 2011, creating a “zone of awakening” spanning 28 and 29 Pisces and 1 Aries. Each time this span was transited by another planet we awakened to a) a form of abundance, b) the relationship of the parts to the whole as things fall apart, and c) the fact that we’ve all entered a new era involving the beginning of individuality realizing itself for the first time.

That has dominated the “opportunities to awaken” wherever these conjunctions fell in our charts, just as the themes of 22 Taurus will dominate the next cycle and awaken the house it falls in until Jupiter again conjuncts Uranus at 21 and 24 Cancer three times between September 2037 and March 2038. For now, it’s onward and upward from 22 Taurus!

The Sabian Symbol for Jupiter Conjunct Uranus

The Sabian Symbol for the 22nd degree of Taurus is “White dove over troubled waters.” In the original Jones class notes Dane Rudhyar published in The Astrology of Personality, he states this degree is about “freedom of understanding; strength based on the possession of a real mission,” “transcendent activity,” and “Self-extrication.”

In The Astrological Mandala, Rudhyar says this degree is about “the spiritual inspiration that comes to the individual in the overcoming of crises.” He states this is “a symbol of guidance, and the dove flying over troubled waters reminds one of the story of Noah and the Ark. Noah met his and mankind’s crisis courageously and in complete obedience to God’s promptings. The test completed, he received the dove’s message” from Spirit announcing “a new Dispensation.”

He offers that this can be applied to us personally if we’ve recently gone through an emotionally or socially challenging time. He concludes that this is a symbol of “cosmic, God-ordained cycles that reveals its conclusive beat through a living and concretely significant sign – a reward to the faithful.” He states this is in the Span of Enjoyment, and is the counterpoint degree in the social-emotional level of Confirmation in the Act of Differentiation.

Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, offers that this degree is a symbol of “the clear direction or absolute orientation which comes to (us) from birth as a consequence of (our) indwelling Spirit or divine heritage, whether or not there is any conscious cooperation with it on (our) part.” He says this is about “freedom of understanding, and the strength which the possession of a real mission or a genuine reason for being will give to any individual.”

He continues this degree offers “a wholly practical protection, to the precise extent it is accepted. He offers us the keyword GUIDANCE, and say when operating in a positive way, this symbol is “a skillful reconciliation of difficulties in the light of overall potentials.”

From this symbol it seems the specific theme of the next 13 years is that we all have the potential to find “strength in the possession of a real mission,” and all we have to do is look for the metaphoric “white dove” flying in our view, giving a sign from Spirit showing our “ordeal” is over, and we’ve endured the flood. This was awakened by Uranus in 2023, and now we move on, move up, and move out!

This promises a “new time, a new way, and a new day” for those of us who have had faith and determination while making the passage out of the old world in 2023 into a new world of 2024. New lands await us all, coming soon via the Sun and then Venus activating the conjunction in mid-May, processed by Mercury in late May, with a powerful move forward when Mars transits 22 Taurus the second week of July.

What Grant Lewi and Alexander Ruperti Wrote about Jupiter Conjunct Uranus

First, from the one I consider the first true “Free Will Astrologer,” Grant Lewi! As he wrote in Heaven Knows What, with a few edits for continuity, here’s his take on a natal Jupiter conjunct Uranus:

You have a certain amount of material luck, and do well in large enterprises…. You are an organizer, a planner, and a doer. You are philosophical, capable of objectivity and detachment. You think in great sweeps and express yourself in a grand manner…. (this) lends force to an aggressive horoscope, heightens the possibility of recognition, and gives you luck and prestige as well as the possibility of sudden and unexpected gains.

As he wrote in Astrology for the Millions, where the commentary is direct toward transiting Jupiter conjunct natal Uranus:

Expands the ego and brings opportunity for self-expression along your most original characteristic line. Some temperament accompanies this essentially creative period; but in it you can overcome whatever obstacles stand between you and the free expression of your dominant urge. Self-assurance is high and takes a noble form. Travel may be indicated. Or “travel” in the figurative sense may send your mind ranging to new bounds of thought and philosophy. Sudden gain possibly as a gift, legacy, unearned increment, also a good deal of extravagance, the result of self-assurance. Inventive genius flourishes, and you should try to put across the original ideas tha tyou consider most truly your own.

We now turn to what Alexander Ruperti wrote about this specific cycle in his masterwork Cycles of Becoming:

… at that time changes in world conditions become necessary and everyone must participate in them. The house in which these conjunctions fall identifies the circumstances or experiences in which it will be most necessary to introduce changes in behavior, feeling, and thought. Also the house position indicates how one may be able to play a significant part in the impending transformation.

…. However much the challenges appear to be external, and however much physical energy may be demanded to meet them, what the conjunctions actually instigate is a rebellion against one’s own bondage to the values which condition one’s personal behavior and viewpoint. The challenge will not be met if one simply tries to adapt outwardly to the new circumstances. There must also be an inner change in order to grow as an individual….

The natal or solar house in which this conjunction falls every 14 years will indicate the area of life in which one may expect to find Uranian transformation of one’s Jupiter social sense.

Other Cycles of Jupiter – Neptune and Pluto

We got a triple dose of Jupiter conjunct Pluto in 2020, setting long range cycles into motion related to 23 and 25 Capricorn. You can find out more by going to Astrology in June and July 2020 – The Second Jupiter Conjunct Pluto which gives a general explanation of those three conjunctions launching major purifications and transformations on a global level. These will be triggered every time a planet crosses the conjunction points in Capricorn, and will be in play until the next Jupiter conjunct Pluto at 15 Aquarius in February 2033.

We then had Jupiter conjunct Neptune between early March and early May 2022 at 24 Pisces, which launched major 13 year expansions in collective consciousness, since Jupiter expands anything it touches and Neptune symbolizes collective consciousness. That time in history is very important, since it closed a cycle started back with the three Jupiter/Neptune conjunctions in Aquarius in 2009 and opened another that will last until 2035.

Coupled with its Pluto and Neptune conjunctions, Jupiter now completes its series of fusions with the outer, invisible spiritual planets at this conjunction with Uranus at 22 Taurus. This fusion will launch Uranian long wave revolutionizing energies promising many years of revolutionary financial conditions, but also opportunity in unique and revolutionary ways.

Jupiter and Pluto set core truths and seed ideas into motion. Jupiter and Neptune set expansive ideals and social reorganization into motion. Jupiter and Uranus will set dramatic new beginnings of long range transformation into motion. The Jupiter/Pluto cycle hit a turning point with Jupiter’s transit through Aries and will hit a turning point in its cycle with Neptune when it moves through late Gemini.

Jupiter’s conjunction with these 3 transpersonal planets during this 4 year period has set up long term patterns moving us through this “end of the end” period of transitioning from 200 years of Earth emphasis into 200 years of Air emphasis. We are finishing "the Winter of the 21st Century," and these long wave cycles show what we can expect in the years ahead.

These Jupiter conjunctions with the outer Spiritual planets mark changes in the general energy fields which are activated whenever an inner planet crosses the points where the conjunctions occurred. Though it may be many months before any inner planet moves through the outer planet conjunction zone, nevertheless the effect is triggered very powerfully.

That's why sometimes we wonder why something is happening that doesn't seem able to be explained by the transits. The only thing to remember is that these are general conditions rather than specific conditions. Specific conditions are shown by the transits to our particular planetary positions.

By studying where past Jupiter and Saturn conjunctions with outer planets fell in our charts, we can see how long range collective forces moved us into understanding and wisdom in those life areas. Pluto helped us purify, while Jupiter gave us hope that would open up new truths and adventures. Neptune helped us dissolve separateness and tap into the universal consciousness, while Jupiter expands our ability to know, to feel, to witness, to forgive and to bless the passages. Uranus helped us individualize, and Jupiter’s conjunction opens doors to unique experiences we never dreamed before then.

In these four years we’re re-setting the clock on many things wherever we have late Capricorn, late Pisces, and late Taurus as we close old accounts and prepare for the coming “Spring” of the 21st century beginning in 2025 when Pluto is in Aquarius as Neptune enters Aries and Uranus enters Gemini. While things will still be rough as we transition from the old Age to the new Age, it’s a dynamic and exciting time to be alive as an Eternal Soul/Spirit having a human experience! Enjoy the ride, be courageous as you feel all there is to feel, and embrace your unique journey as you stand at the intersection of Fate Street and Freewill Street on a corner of Eternity Boulevard.
