Over the next week, Mercury leads the way into a period of radical squares from Aquarius to Taurus. Slow down and be very cautious!

We get our first dose today, January 7, with Moon in Scorpio square Jupiter and Saturn and oppositions to Mars and Uranus as Mercury approaches its square to Mars on January 8! This generates a tremendous amount of heat in the early Leo sector of our charts, so be strong and courageous as you face circumstances caught between irresistible forces and immovable objects needing the calm objectivity and inclusiveness of Jupiter and Saturn.

On January 8, Mercury enters Aquarius and immediately squares Mars, so expect a lot of very edgy energy showing us the need for caution. This is especially true for those with planets in the last two degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn, as well as the first two degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius. January 9 brings Mercury conjunct Saturn, and January 11 brings Mercury conjunct Jupiter. This should be great for “the Guide of Souls” to bring forth new perspectives, new information, new understanding, and new visions of the Aquarius ideals in the making.

Mercury squares Uranus just before the New Moon at 24 Capricorn on January 12, followed by Mars square Saturn on January 13 and the Moon in Aquarius conjuncting Jupiter, Saturn, and Mercury while squaring Mars and Uranus. Given Uranus goes stationary direct on January 14, expect radical events to dominate the world stage. By how we handle the Mercury squares, we’ll see how we need to respond to the other squares after that which are exact between January 17 (Jupiter/Uranus) through January 26 (Sun/Uranus), with all of this giving us a heads up for the Saturn square Uranus dominating the months of February and March.

Be cautious, yet optimistic; be yielding, but not in matters of principle or ideals to be achieved; be pleasant in the face of stubborn and/or conflicted people or situations, and if you find yourself stuck in a rut, either back out or wait it out, depending on the circumstances.
