Expect an acceleration in the general craziness over the next two weeks. The main article on the coming squares will post tomorrow. Today we put the focus on the evolutionary configuration I have termed “The Grand Irrationality,” since it’s been activated the past few days and will continue, wane, and then roar back in about a week.

The Grand Irrationality is a powerful configuration created by planets in septile-series aspects to Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. You can find more in depth information about this decades’ long irrationality, how it works, when it’s triggered and more in the article The Grand Irrationality

Right now, Mercury has just finished conjuncting Pluto, septiling Neptune, and biseptiling Uranus. As Mercury is in front of the Sun and Venus, for the past few days through today Mercury has heralded the intensified nonrationality in the atmosphere. The news is certainly filled with reports of widespread irrational behavior! So Mercury, “Messenger of the Gods” and “Guide of Souls” has just introduced us to the January 2021 vintage of the Grand Irrationality.

However! From now through January 11 we will experience the Sun in mid-Capricorn biseptile Mars in the final degree of Aries and first degree of Taurus! While not the Grand Irrationality, a biseptile creates an interactive irrational field, and because it is the upper (waning) square from the Sun to Mars, it represents the fulfillment of the larger “whole cycle” created at their last conjunction at 10 Virgo in September 2019. A waning biseptile is the crucial phase before the waning square, marking a major shift in the energies from interactive back to personal.

Because Mars is in the final degree of Aries, this culminating “irrational fork in the road of destiny” requires acceptance of natural limits and a certain degree of self-discipline. It will activate major choices and changes for those with planets or points near 28 Aries- 2 Taurus, 20-24 Gemini, 11-15 Leo, 3-7 Libra, 25-29 Scorpio, 16-20 Capricorn, and 7-11 Pisces. If you’re affected, this is a big turning point for you!

That biseptile lasts through January 11, when the Sun leaves that energy field and immediately begins to trigger the Grand Irrationality again! The configuration will stay active through January 16, with hot zones at 23-27 Capricorn, 15-19 Pisces, 6-10 Taurus, 28 Gemini-2 Cancer, 20-24 Leo, 11-15 Libra, and 2-6 Sagittarius. I’ll close with something I mentioned up top. Please remember that besides all these septiles and biseptiles going on, on Thursday we kick off a very volatile period of Mercury and the Sun making conjunctions to Jupiter and Saturn with all of them making squares to Mars and Uranus!
