The Overview for July

In 2025, the month of July continues the new Saturn in Aries era, with Uranus entering Gemini to join the “three note chord” of the double sextile-trine formed between Aquarius, Aries, and Gemini.

When Neptune entered Aries, it began an entirely different collective vibe than we’ve ever known. We’re now firmly in the Pluto in Aquarius era through 2042, and Neptune’s begun its time in Aries which after a brief return to Pisces this Autumn, will resume in January 2026 and last through 2038.

July begins under the beams of the June New Moon at 5 Cancer, showing many things will cease to be after this month. We are all being “called to account” so we may change directions away from inertia or self-destructive trajectories and embrace a new adventure, thanks to the Sun conjunct Jupiter just before that New Moon.

Jupiter’s entry into Cancer ends Jupiter’s Gemini mental-informational experience and begins a year of the ruler of our Sag and Pisces sectors being in the sign of personal feelings and anchorage in our “shell of personality” so we can feel safe interacting with others. This is the Teacher in the sign of personal feelings and experiences, encouraging us to find opportunity in fulfilling basic necessities and a sense of closer connection with others in “our tribe.”

Once Jupiter entered Cancer, it immediately squared Saturn and Neptune. This indicates a need to align our values with our ambitions, not get discouraged too easily, find a focus to avoid drifting with the wrong currents, and see the need of the collective. These squares were reinforced during and after the Solstice as the Sun conjuncted Jupiter and brought those squares back into play.

Because Jupiter squared Saturn from 2 Cancer to 2 Aries, and squared Neptune from 3 Cancer to 3 Aries, we’ll need a sense of balance, rhythm, fairness and self-discipline the entire month that the squares are in play. They’ll be triggered one more time in early August when Venus enters Cancer and makes those squares.

As the New Moon also featured interlocking Yods of Aries sextile Aquarius focused through Mars in Virgo, and the Sun and Jupiter sextile Mars with all quincunx Pluto, we have a lot of expansion through sacrifice and need for adjustments this month. These are healing Yods, and many will experience “divine help when human efforts seem to fail.”

Saturn will be within a degree of Neptune through the end of August. These two occupying the beginning of Aries “primes the pump” for February, March, and April 2026 when these stationary points and more are revisited by Saturn and Neptune along with Venus, Sun, Mars and Mercury in March and April.

Neptune going stationary retrograde at 3 Aries, the “avatar” degree in early July, will spread the late March Venus/Sun Inferior conjunction theme far and wide this Summer. This degree announces the future appearance of new world leaders, and new players on the various stages of life. Mid-July Saturn goes SRX at 2 Aries, beginning a time of learning objectivity through finding the humor in things.

Remember the recent Venus retrograde was from 11 Aries back to 25 Pisces, and Mercury’s retrograde was from 10 Aries back to 27 Pisces. That makes late Pisces and early Aries active zones with themes which will be triggered as Saturn moves through both RX zones between now and May 2026. As Saturn moves across those stationary direct points in Pisces, the cosmic timekeeper will begin crystalizing those themes into form between September 2025 and February 2026.

Because all of the planets are in half the zodiac between Pluto in Aquarius and Mars in Virgo (except for when the Moon is in Scorpio and Sagittarius) for the entire month, we maintain a “Bowl” Jones pattern. This pattern is about noticing what we have versus what we lack, what is versus what isn’t, and what we have to give to our world. Pluto leads the Bowl in early Aquarius showing the need to keep our eyes on the big picture and idealistic goal which is still in seed form.

All the action is in the houses where we have Aries, Taurus, Gemini, and Cancer. This puts the emphasis on building the sense of Self which is adequate to deal with the world. Mars in Virgo is squeezing a lot out of our lives so we can find a more practical focus, and once those Yods are done we are in a favorable and practical time through late July, as Mars is sextile and quintile Jupiter this month and next.

Saturn went SD on a degree of showing courage as we focus our spiritual will. Those themes will be in play through November when new themes will replace the old ones. Saturn is in the first 2 degrees of Aries in June, July, and August, giving us a dress rehearsal for what we can expect in 2026. We’re in a time of “Stepping out of the ocean on to dry land” for the first time since 1996.

Beginning September, we’ll again have Saturn in Pisces requiring that we finish purifying ourselves before we launch into a new life and new world of activity in February, March, and April. We’ll say goodbye to a lot this Autumn and by Winter we’ll be on our way. Abundance is promised for all of us in 2026, and with both Saturn and Neptune in Aries for a long time, it’ll be a new collective atmosphere!

The Spiritual Field

We continue to be blessed by the closest Neptune sextile with Pluto in 30 years. We’re now between two eras: the past/present of Uranus in Taurus, Neptune in Pisces, and Pluto in Capricorn, and the present/future of Uranus in Gemini, Neptune in Aries, and Pluto in Aquarius. Each of these “three note chords” creates a powerful linkage in the Spiritual field of productive stability according to the signs involved.

These three will harmonize this Summer when Uranus enters Gemini and forms sextiles with Saturn and Neptune in Aries, and is trine by sign with Pluto in Aquarius. This is a powerful “double sextile/trine” which has favorably impacted planets we have in late Earth and Water signs, and now begins to impact the early degrees of the Fire and Water signs.

This is an entirely new experience of Spirit and Life as these Spiritual powerhouses shift out of Earth and Water into Fire and Air. This is Life and Spirit expressed as a new inspiration, with Saturn in Aries providing “real world structure” crystallizing the preliminary Fire and Air harmonic consciousness. That means 2024 and 2025 have spiritually harmonized planets for planets we have in late Earth and Water signs, while in 2025-2026 they are doing the same for planets we have in the early degrees of the Fire and Air signs.

Uranus will occupy the first two degrees of Gemini from early July through early November, heralding new discoveries and the arrival of “Santa Claus” for those affected by 2 Gemini. We can expect a lot of breakthroughs with Uranus in Gemini, as well as new ideas, new interpretations, and new ways of understanding things.

We’ve been moving through an individual and spiritual awakening which marks the beginning of a long term regeneration and renewal wherever we have late Taurus. This is the next step of the 14 year cycle which began in April 2024 with the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction promising us all a new life.

Neptune in Aries is spreading a new type of energy which will “be in fashion” in the collective consciousness for decades to come. It’s now going stationary retrograde on the “avatar” degree at 3 Aries. That degree promises us new “avatars,” new world leaders, and new icons of an Aries nature through this century and beyond.

Pluto in Aquarius puts us on the cusp of historic change. Its last RX station at 4 Aquarius now begins a review of what will heal us, or perhaps a sense of our inner regenerative power to “make things whole.” This degree is about hidden powers being made manifest in some form of healing or “restoration of health.” So open to your latent “healing powers,” or abilities to restore a natural harmony to circumstances. Be fearless in making decisions, as this month helps us turn away from useless loyalties and obedience to authoritarian ideas.

We also have several long wave Aries cycles in play. Jupiter launched a major healing and mentoring cycle when it conjuncted Chiron at 15 Aries on March 11, 2023. That began a long wave Chiron cycle which will last until the Summer of 2036.

Not all Chiron cycles are the same length. When Chiron transits between Aquarius and Gemini, it moves relatively slowly and has conjunctions with Jupiter about every 13 years. However, it can take 19-20 years for the next conjunction after Gemini or Cancer. That means once the conjunction at 16 Gemini happens in the Summer of 2036 we won’t have another conjunction of Jupiter and Chiron until the Spring of 2056 in Aquarius, which will launch another long term “expansive healing/mentoring” cycle.

Mars

Mars is now picking up speed for many months to come after going SD at 18 Cancer in late February. This month it’s accelerating through Virgo. The good news is that Mars makes favorable aspects with Jupiter almost all month long. Be productively expansive in your efforts in early July, and use unique means to accomplish your decisions leading to consolidation in the middle and latter parts of the month.

This month Mars activates the house(s) where we have 9 through 27 Virgo. July 1-4 finds Mars between 9-10 Virgo, creating an agitating effect on planets at 9 and 10 degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces. July 4 through 21 will create the same effects for those with planets between 10-20 of the same signs, and July 21 through 31 Mars will agitate planets between 20 and 27 degrees of the Mutable signs.

We have 1 particularly volatile period when Venus in Gemini squares Mars and re-creates the active zones of the Mutable squares between Jupiter in Gemini and Saturn in Pisces. This square lasts from July 14 through 29, and is exact from 22 Gemini to 22 Virgo. This challenges us not to get distracted by passing matters, make sure we’re using the right tools to get the job done, and keep the focus despite the cross currents.

As I’ve offered before, when Mars is within a degree of forming or separating from a hard aspect with a planet, slow down and show deliberation and caution in how you use force. Hard aspects to/from Mars require that we moderate or antidote impulsiveness and impatience.

We’re Actors On A New Stage With A New Set – The Bigger Picture

We’re still in the initial years of a new era in human evolution. The Grand Mutation of Jupiter conjunct Saturn at 1 Aquarius began a new 20 year Aquarian Era in December 2020, as well as a new 200 year era, moving global energies out of Earth and into Air. We’ve begun to grow beyond the materialism of the past 200 years and have entered 2 centuries of Air emphasis, with its qualities of relatedness, receptivity, versatility, movability, lightness, and cooperative ideas, visions, and ideals.

We’re still "under the beams" of the Solar Eclipses of 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025, and these “cosmic recyclers” continue to remove what we no longer need in our lives. Take note of where you have 1 Cancer, 24 and 13 Sagittarius, 20 Gemini, 10, 20 and 30 Aries, 11 Taurus, 11 and 22 Libra, and 2 Scorpio, since we’ve all had to let go of many things related to these sectors the past few years. As we study how successive Eclipses have affected various areas of our charts and lives, we can get a sense of the utility of these “Cosmic Recyclers” in removing what we no longer needed in those areas, creating a void which attracted new experiences. They invite us to see the continuity of “letting go, taking in, letting go, taking in” across the years.

Primary Action Beats for the First Half of the Month

As mentioned, July begins under the beams of the late June New Moon at 5 Cancer, showing we do not have to continue any line of action which would yield negative outcomes. Sacrifice and adjust as needed to achieve maximum productivity. That New Moon will fulfill its “seed purpose” at the Full Moon of July 10 at 19 Cancer/Capricorn, showing a merging of the old and new expressed through accelerated growth.

The first week of the month brings Venus conjunct Uranus at 30 Taurus just before it slips into Gemini. This begins a new cycle of finding “pleasing expressions of genius,” and interestingly, Venus will again conjunct Uranus at 30 Taurus in April of 2026, which will be the last conjunction to Uranus in Taurus until the 22nd century.

Besides Venus entering Gemini on July 4, we also see Neptune stationary retrograde. This is a sea change and beginning of setting the themes of 3 Aries into collective consciousness. On July 6, Venus sextiles Saturn and Neptune, anticipating the sextiles those two will make with Uranus beginning July 7 when Uranus enters Gemini.

The Moon moves from Virgo to Sagittarius; though there are crosscurrents the first 4 days of the month, it’s a good time to strengthen resolve and follow through on organized efforts. There are so many quincunxes on July 4 there may be sacrifices and adjustments that day. However, by the end of that day into July 5 and 6 should be harmonious and ultimately stabilizing.

The second week of the month finds Uranus entering Gemini on the 7th with Venus trine Pluto and the Full Moon at 19 Cancer/Capricorn on the July 10. That Full Moon will introduce new blood in all our lives so that we can focus on “accelerated growth” through the end of July, and help us find closure as we move into new feeling worlds.

Saturn goes stationary retrograde at 2 Aries on July 12/13, beginning its review of its shadow zone on a degree of finding objectivity through humor. So heavy Saturn’s taking us on a journey of lightening up before plunging back into the murky waters of Pisces in September!

The Moon moves from Sagittarius to Pisces during the second week of the month. Difficult aspects most of the week, with July 11 the best day. Be cautious July 7 and 9, and from the evening of July 11 through the evening of July 14.

Primary Action Beats for the Second Half of the Month

The third week begins under the beams of the Full Moon which we can use to good advantage to anticipate things to come this Autumn. Mercury goes stationary retrograde on July 17 on a degree of initiation through release and beginning its review of the span between 16 and 5 Leo.

The entire week is favored by Mercury sextile Venus, assisting planets we have in the middle degrees of the Fire and Air signs. But we also have Sun square Chiron that week, which should be good for turning a corner for those with health issues. Be balanced and disciplined and all should go well.

In the third week of the month the Moon travels from Pisces to Gemini, with as many favorable days this week as there were unfavorable ones in the second week. As there are no cautionary Lunar days, get as much done as you can, especially things you’ve been putting off. Research, review, rehearse, and re-think whatever needs to be re-imagined.

The fourth week of July brings powerful aspects! The Sun enters Leo July 22 and sextiles Uranus, trines Saturn and Neptune, and opposes Pluto, throwing very harmonious energies to planets in early degrees of Fire and Air in our charts! As the New Moon is at 3 Leo on July 24, we’ll be given a new freedom and sense of the power of our mature experience. That lights up Aquarius, Aries, Gemini, and Leo, so be elegant and balanced as you find a new spontaneity and natural love or expression. The fly in the ointment is Venus square Mars on July 23, challenging us to stay on track and not get distracted or deflected by side issues.

Looking through to the end of the month, we see Venus sextile Chiron on July 28, Chiron going stationary retrograde at 28 Aries on the 30th just before Venus enters Cancer. The end of the month brings the Inferior conjunction of Mercury and the Sun, bringing a “fusion of life and mind” related to the themes of 10 Leo, which involves “transfiguration and tears of joy” knowing we’ve made it through some sort of “long night.” These are in play for many months to come.

Though they fall on August 1 and 2, we’ll note that the last week of July is heavily influenced by Venus square Saturn and Neptune while quincunx Pluto and Mars is quincunx Chiron. So prepare for a shift in feelings at the end of July. They may be related to the Sun square Saturn and Neptune just after the Solstice.

The last 10 days of the month finds the Moon moving between Gemini and Scorpio, making favorable aspects on July 22, 23, 24, 27 and 29. Things could go sideways or get extreme somehow on the afternoon of July 24, all day July 26, 28, and after noon on July 31 into August 1.

Evolutionary Development

This is the sixth month of the North Node in Pisces era! This is a time to grow through empathy, compassion, and forgiveness, demonstrated through our sense of service. We will grow in our “nonlocal awareness” and tune into what Neptune and Saturn have taught us about Pisces while “showing what we know” wherever we have late Virgo.

The Sun in Cancer is a time to see the Light of new allegiances and decisions which will secure our inner and outer base of operations so that we may express all we have gathered in a new burst of energy when the Sun enters Leo. As Cancer anchors, grounds, and integrates the evolving cycle for future expression, this is the time to adjust whatever you need to in order to prepare for the new Pluto seeds of the idealistic vision of Aquarius to break the surface at the oppositions this month. Just keep moving into whatever calls you at the deepest and highest levels of your Being.

Because we’re in the fifth year of a new 20 year and 200 year cycle, remember a new era has dawned. Have courage and take the initiative to leave the Earth and fly free as the Grand Mutation expands its promise into the Divine transfigured ideal of a more just truth and future. While the old dies, the new has arrived!

Even though the ideal is far away, we are the midwives and mid-husbands to a new way of relating to Life, Energy, Consciousness, each other, and the Earth Herself. Because our essential nature is Loving Wisdom, remember to lighten up, play a little, and be willing to explore new arenas of effective activity where you can work and play with other Light Spirits. This is the time to take heart as we navigate the dawning of the Pluto in Aquarius era.

We are now collectively transfiguring into a greater vision of the one Light/Life we all are together. Continue to find your heart strength and new forms of genuine happiness appropriate for who you are now, and who you are becoming relative to just a few months ago.

We now navigate the cosmic time-space between endings and beginnings so bless and forgive much to flow down the time stream. The past is over and we all have begun our trek into a new world of new potential, new adventures, and new ways to enjoy being ourselves while doing our work of Destiny. Open to the abundance of the process of growth, since we are all on a rocket ship to the stars!
