Mercury Is Entering Its Shadow Zone at 12 Scorpio

Which means that Mercury is rapidly slowing, preparing to go retrograde soon! Lots of Scorpio action ahead!

The shadow zone is defined by the span between where a planet goes retrograde, and where it goes direct after the retrograde period. In this case, Mercury goes retrograde at 28 Scorpio at 8:42 am PDT, 3:42 pm GMT on October 31. It will retrograde back to 12 Scorpio, where it goes stationary direct at 11:12 am PST, 7:12 pm GMT on November 20.

That puts the shadow zone between 12 and 28 Scorpio, and around 5:20 am PDT October 11 Mercury crosses into the degree where it’ll go SD in late November. As it happens just before Venus opposed Uranus, the Full Moon, and Sun square Pluto, it seems we’ll have a wild ride as we enter the shadow zone! I’ll be writing quite a few articles about the coming retrograde which will post as it comes closer.

There are fortunate tides right now despite the friction just mentioned. We also have Sun sextile Jupiter and Mercury sextile Saturn and trine Neptune, making for deep perception and clear understanding of core issues with a balanced expansion as the main act! Mercury configuring so favorably with Saturn and Neptune assists sane thinking and planning, with possibilities of collective rebirth within group structures we’re been preparing for. As Mercury goes SRX conjunct Venus and novile Mars, we’ll see a “return to source” confronting results of prior actions and inactions which may take some time to be made manifest.

We’ll have returns of people or desires from the past, or may be able to see past defeats with an eye to how we gained power and/or victory as a result of our loss. This will be good for detective work, and reviewing and re-evaluating old stuck feelings. Many things will be seen in a different light by late November, and what we learn during the retrograde will leave us able to operate as metaphoric ambassadors or diplomats. Because Scorpio helps us eliminate fear and all which would hinder our ascent to the highest possible levels of life, let go of old fears, ghosts, and echoes of memories of perceptions of echoes of memories of perceptions of echoes of memories and let the old stuck feelings flow down the timestream of the movie of your life.

This Mercury retrograde period will bring up some things in the past, since 28 Scorpio has been activated three times since the Spring of 2018. Therefore this retrograde will bring a review or echoes of these periods, or show us how our responses then have created consequences now.

It was activated as the Lunar degree of the May 2018 Wesak Festival, showing us the form of the “Global Buddha wisdom” we all learned in 2018. 28 Scorpio was also activated in late October 2018 when Mercury conjuncted Jupiter at this exact degree. That means this retrograde gives us a review of how that conjunction operated this past year in the house it occurred in our charts. And finally, 28 Scorpio is the exact degree where Mercury went SD in December 2018! The Mercurial data you notice over the next 3+ weeks will be clarified after the Sun crosses the Mercury SRX degree around November 19. For the rest of October, adapt to the slowing pace of things, get all your papers in order, finish what you can in the next 3 weeks, and prepare to put some things on hold for a little while.

Take a look at what's been set into motion with an eye to building in delays, rehearsals, or more research before things again begin to move forward in late November. The time before Mercury goes retrograde is good for doing what must be done so that other related things can be done later, as well as reconnecting with people and activities from the past that are somehow related to the future.

With Mercury’s retrograde station at 28 Scorpio, get ready to go inward and feel deeply what holds you together at your core, seeing how everything in your life that you have and are is the result of your magnetism.
