The Astrology of November 2019 - Big Picture
- Details
- Written by Cristina
From the underworld to a bird’s eye view: new scenarios open up for us in November 2019. If anything, Sagittarius season is just around the corner.
Whereas October was a Plutonian month of deep shadow work, inner exploration and veils being torn, November is going to lighten up the atmosphere a little bit – sure, we still have Mars entering the sign of Scorpio and Venus’ ingress into Capricorn towards the end of the month, but Mercury and Neptune’s direct station, a hopeful Sagittarius New Moon and a plethora of trines and sextiles will make sure we are met with more opportunities to move forward.
We have descended into the Underworld, faced the darkness and awakened the dormant witch, priestess, magician. We have slain dragons, defeated nightmares and mapped out the depths; the wisdom of Sagittarius will help us figure out what to make of it and how does it all fit into the big picture. The world doesn’t begin and end with our own Soul searching; the risk of dwelling on our drama, trauma and shadow sides for more than necessary is to become so self-absorbed we can’t see the forest for the trees, or the systemic, structural issues that worsen and sometimes even cause our distress. We need each one of the twelve Zodiac archetypes for this reason – so that we can step to a higher level of awareness each time. We need Sagittarius, to open our eyes to what goes beyond us yet includes us, sometimes while excluding others. And we need to expand beyond what we know, even if and especially when all we knew in our life is pain and suffering. There is always more.
The Astrology of November 2019, explained
Venus’ ingress into the sign of Sagittarius sets the tone for the whole month, on November 1st. Slowly but surely, we will start rediscovering the pleasure in searching for meaning, seeking answers and letting our Soul soar; friendly and generous companions are likely to show up and join our quests. Love and friendship will take on a philosophical tinge, guiding us towards impactful discoveries and realizations.
A trine between Venus in Sagittarius and Chiron in Aries occurs two days later, on November 3; gaining perspective about our vulnerability and getting un-stuck from the rut of self-pity will be easier then than it has been lately. Once we look at the bigger picture, we realize our pain is but a detail, rather than the whole epicentre of our Universe; we are flawed, but so are others; most importantly, we are loved, just like we are perfectly capable of loving and understanding others in spite of their imperfections. There is nothing like reaching out to our extended family of friends and spirit siblings to remind ourselves about that.
On November 4, Mars in Libra squares Pluto in Capricorn, casting an ominous shadow on our relationships and prompting us once again to address our unconscious urges and motives before they spill over.
November 8 sees two sextiles: one between the Sun in Scorpio and Pluto in Capricorn, and the other between Saturn in Capricorn and Neptune in Pisces. With our inner and outer worlds in sync, it will be possible to spot significant opportunities to bring our dreams and visions down to Earth.
On November 10, another sextile will follow, this time between Rx Mercury in Scorpio and Pluto in Capricorn. If we look hard and deep enough, we can dig up some seriously transformative awareness from our subconscious.
November 11 sees the Sun and Rx Mercury coming together in the sign of Scorpio; look out for flashes of insight and moments of clarity.
The next day, on November 12, the Moon goes full in Taurus, highlighting culminations in the realm of the five senses. It’s a time of harvest, of reaping what we have planted – not really in a figurative sense: Taurus is earthy, solid, practical. We will pluck the fruits of our labour and see our endeavours coming to fruition. Money and resources will be themes. A more in-depth post about this very Full Moon is in the works.
November 13 is one of the most productive and bountiful days of the whole month, with a (waning) sextile between the Sun in Scorpio and Pluto in Capricorn and Rx Mercury in Scorpio making a trine to Neptune in Pisces an a sextile to Saturn in Capricorn. Thinking and speaking our will into existence becomes possible.
On November 14, however, Venus in Sagittarius will square Neptune in Pisces, blurring the boundaries and mudding the waters. A very beneficial energy when it comes to tapping into our inspiration and revelling in some spiritual self-care and self-love; not so much for engaging in upfront conversations with friends (especially if they’re “with benefits”) and/or lovers.
Mars enters Scorpio on November 19, and our inner warrior can rejoice. Since Mars co-rules Scorpio, his raw power is expressed freely in this sign; if progress felt painstakingly slow lately, during Mars’s transit of Libra, the sign of his detriment, things will start to pick up speed once the red planet enters a more familiar environment. We will be ready for battle, again.
At long last, Mercury in Scorpio stations direct on November 21; it will be easier to make decisions, identify our feelings and move forward with the realizations that we have uncovered. On the same day, though, Mars in Scorpio makes a quincunx to Chiron in Aries, warning us against being too hasty and abrupt in tackling communication issues and bringing up sensitive topics.
We bid farewell to Scorpio and welcome Sagittarius season on November 22. Sagittarius is a Mutable Fire sign, worldly, philosophical, concerned with Truth, ideals and principles. It mirrors our endless search for meaning, our relationship with faith and with fate; it prompts to ask ourselves what is the meaning in everything we have gone through and build our personal narrative, one that helps us navigating the world at large. It’s time to practice detachment, put things into perspective and live bigger and bolder.
On November 24, a sizzling opposition between Mars in Scorpio and Uranus in Taurus takes place. Leaving our comfort zone and broadening our horizons may require that we take action to clear our path from stumbling blocks and obstacles. Sometimes, this comes in the form of rejecting self-imposed dogmas, rules and fears that no longer serve us.
Venus changes signs yet again, entering Capricorn on November 26; this will be a sobering time for relationships of all kinds, one that asks us to protect our energies and set firmer boundaries.
A few hours later, on the same day, the New Moon will occur in Sagittarius, urging us to re-think our life philosophy and propel ourselves towards the next big things.
On November 27, Venus in Capricorn will square Chiron in Aries, suggesting that the process of setting firmer boundaries and re-negotiating relationship roles has the potential to hit some sore spots.
Neptune stationing direct the next day, on November 28, seems to fit this narrative: some bubbles might burst, leaving us disoriented and in need for rebuilding our understanding of life. It shouldn’t be so hard, given that Mercury in Scorpio will form a trine to Neptune in Pisces on the very same day.
On November 29, a smooth trine between Venus in Capricorn and Uranus in Taurus will allow for a breath of fresh air in our relationship; this dynamic contact will make it easier to embrace and accept change and to disentangle ourselves from drama and draining attachments.
The month closes with the second sextile between Mercury in Scorpio and Saturn in Capricorn, reminding us that speaking our truth with integrity and from a place of emotional honesty is the best form of self-care and the most effective way to avoid useless drama.
