Long before the Pleiadians, the Sirians, or any of the galactic civilizations that spiritual seekers speak of today, there was Lyra.

The Lyrans are widely regarded across channeled traditions and ET contact literature as the original ancestors of our branch of the human family — the cosmic forefathers from whom the great diversity of humanoid life in this galaxy ultimately sprang. If you have ever felt an inexplicable pull toward the stars, a homesickness you cannot name, or a sense that your soul carries memories far older than this lifetime, the Lyran lineage may be closer to you than you know.

This article draws on channeled teachings and ET contact research to offer a comprehensive overview of the primary Lyran subgroups, their physical characteristics, their role in Earth's ancient history, and why their story matters deeply to those awakening to their galactic origins today.

The Lyran Origin: Forefathers of a Galactic Family

We begin with the group called the Lyrans — the first expression of physicality that could be considered truly humanoid in this sector of the galaxy. The earliest Lyrans were somewhat smaller than your present average human. But as the culture grew, as their experiences and genetic structures began changing, their physical characteristics began expanding as well.

To understand who you are as a species — and who many of you are as individual souls — it helps enormously to understand the diversity of your Lyran forefathers. That diversity is, of course, reflected in the extraordinary variety you experience on Earth today. You are not a random accident of biology. You are the living expression of a galactic family tree stretching back millions of years.

"The Lyran basic genetic structure is the mother of all. It is important that we stress this once again — the Lyran genetic code is the foundation from which your entire galactic family emerged."

The Lyran Giants

Among the primary groups most active in space exploration — and therefore most relevant to Earth's history — the first is the genotype known as the Lyran Giants.

These entities were Caucasian in type, primarily of light skin, light eyes, and light hair; the darkest hair would be a medium brown, which was somewhat unusual. The physical body would be likened to the mesomorph — a well-balanced, muscular structure. What made them remarkable was their size: these were beings of genuinely large stature, significantly taller than the present human average. They were the pioneers. The explorers. They were among the first of the Lyran genotype to travel into space, and their genetic influence reached far across the galaxy.

These entities had a strong group identity. Their civilization was founded on exploration, expansion, and the desire to understand — qualities that you can still see expressed in humanity's most driven explorers, scientists, and adventurers.

The Lyran Redheads

There is another race that branched off from the giant race — the red-haired Lyrans. Their hair was red to strawberry blonde in color, the skin tone very, very fair, with a difficulty exposing their skin to certain frequencies of natural light due to the planet they sprang from. Some of these were also giant in stature, though there were some who were average human size. Eye color was generally a light to what you would now consider green — though it is a different quality of green than you see upon your world.

These entities were some of the first Lyran pioneers — a word used carefully here, because there are many worlds that consider the red-haired ones to be the invaders, the marauders, the havoc-wreckers of the Lyran genotype. This aggressive tendency was channeled differently as they evolved — in the Pleiadian branch descended from this group, it became passion, excitement, and intensity rather than conquest.

Your closest mythological remnants of this group are found in Norse mythology — Vikings and related traditions. Some of that mythology reflects actual Earth beings who were either influenced by or in contact with this red-haired Lyran strain.

"Most of your genetic forefathers were from the Caucasian category. Your diversity began with some red-head influence as well as some giant influence — but the Caucasian influence is primary."

The Redhead and Caucasian Subgroups

So far we have the giants and the redheads. Within the redheads there are two subgroups — one giant-sized, one average-sized. Within the Lyran family you also have a broad type that could be called Caucasian: light-skinned, light-eyed, with hair ranging from almost white to a light brown. Body types would range from ectomorphic (thin) to mesomorphic (muscular). This is the broadest category.

This Caucasian grouping represents the primary genetic inheritance of Earth humanity. Most of the beings you have called gods, angels, or sky visitors throughout your ancient history were expressions of this genotype interacting with your developing civilizations.

In terms of internal biological structure, the teaching offered here focuses on external appearances rather than raw anatomical data — because the value of this information is not the data itself, but the understanding it gives you of how your planet has achieved such extraordinary group diversity rather than homogeneity.

The Darker-Skinned Lyrans

There was one other humanoid group — rarer, but present — a type more Caucasian in features, but with skin of a light chocolate tone, very uniform throughout the whole body. The eyes are brown, not black, although some were green. The hair is not black but a very dark brown. These entities were rare in Lyran civilization and had interactions with your world as well.

The existence of this subgroup helps explain how the extraordinary variety of human skin tones and features could have a common cosmic origin. Genetic diversity was seeded into the Earth experiment from the very beginning.

The Birdlike Lyran Subgroup

It is important to understand that not all expressions of Lyran energy are strictly humanoid in the way Earth humans define it. Some forms expressed the Lyran energy through mammalian bodies whose appearance is quite different from the human norm.

The birdlike Lyran subgroup is one of these. Their body type would be what you call ectomorph — very thin, almost frail in appearance. The facial structure is more angular, sharper, resembling a bird, though these are still mammals. The eyes are birdlike. The hair is not feathered, but is of a different quality that can resemble feathers if you are not touching it or in close proximity to it. It was also ceremoniously adorned in a certain way that made it look feathered.

These entities are very cool and intellectual. They consider themselves primarily scientists, explorers, and philosophers. They do not engage in galactic politics, but they do travel and visit. They have had interaction here on your Earth during some of the most influential civilizations — Sumerian, Egyptian. There was interaction in what you call the Indus Valley.

These entities have entered, in a backhanded way, the mythology of your people. They are not bird creatures — they are mammals who are birdlike in appearance. At this point in time they do not represent something significant for your current unfoldment, but their historical contact left traces in some of your most ancient cultures.

The Catlike Lyran Subgroup

Another mammalian expression — and one that has strongly influenced Earth mythology — is what could be called the catlike Lyran subgroup. These entities are Caucasian in features, but the skin is more of a light chocolate, very uniform throughout the whole body. The eyes have a catlike quality. Any primitive interaction with these entities on your world may have reported that they are cat people — they are not. They are humanoid.

Very early in the development of these two groups — birdlike and catlike — the course of their evolution took a different direction than the main Lyran branch. We are speaking of millions of years ago. These developments started separately from the main family branch.

They are not so much involved in your human drama. This is not from a denial of the Lyran dysfunction and conflicts — it is simply that their excitement has gone in other directions, and they have evolved along those directions. They have had contact with you every once in a while. They recognize that you are all part of a family, at least genetically. And there are individuals within their societies who often project to you on an astral level simply to keep the lines open for communication.

The Eyes: A Cosmic Signature

There is a point worth making here about the Lyran, Vegan, and other extraterrestrial civilizations who have communicated with you. It is about their eyes.

Primarily the eyes are accentuated — whether it be through the tilt, the shape, the size, the color, or their reflectivity. They are usually very pronounced. If you search through your mythologies, many civilizations have accented the eyes — most notably the Egyptian civilization. This did not start out as an adornment, but as an imitation of the gods — as an attempt to make humans more godlike, as an attempt to revere the gods. Over time there has been a loss of the connection to why the eyes were accentuated; it was originally because of the gods.

Your eyes appear small in comparison to the rest of the galactic family because of the genetic manipulation involved in the creation of Homo Sapiens. When the Sirians took over the project from the Lyrans it was too late to change this. So to some degree the Sirians encouraged the practice of accentuating the eyes as a remembrance of the gods — so that you would never forget your forefathers. They have done a lot through the ages to stimulate memory in you so that you would never ever forget.

Lyran History: The Great Exodus

The following historical account is excerpted from research compiled from ET contact literature, including material from UFO Contact from the Pleiades by Wendelle Stevens.

According to the explanation offered, the Lyrians were the original ancestors of our branch of the lifestream of evolution. Many thousands of years ago, their civilization in Lyra reached a high technological level and they began to travel in space. They were free-will creatures and had control of their destiny.

At a certain point in time they fell into disagreement and divided into factions with different ideologies and different goals and objectives. They eventually went to war and destroyed much of their society and ruined their home. Escapists seeking to avoid the anticipated outcome fled from their native system and found homes in star systems we call the Pleiades and the Hyades. They also went to nearby Vega and other star systems.

The Lyrian races began evacuating their home planet over 22 million years ago, and they have peaked out and migrated from there more than once. They believe that Creation itself is the First Cause — not that a Creator created it. They see creation as Universal Knowledge, Universal Wisdom, Universal Spirit. They told contactee Eduard Meier that there are milliards of creation forms known to them.

The early Lyrians were here on Earth and observed physical life on Hyperboria — a mythical first continent encompassing all of the land mass at that time. This was before Earth humans began physical evolution. Descendants of these Lyrians came again later and assisted the budding societies of the next epoch and gave Lemuria and Atlantis their names.

The Lyrian descendants who settled Earth and Malona (a planet in our solar system, the 5th from the sun) both were a war-like race and they carried their warlike tendencies with them. The Malonans ended up destroying their planet in a terrible atomic holocaust — creating what is now the asteroid belt. The surviving Lyrians left for many thousands of years. Subsequent generations came back in another age and again fell to fighting among themselves and again they left. This was repeated still once more.

According to the Pleiadian account, the Lyrians left their system as rebels and settled in the Pleiades and the Hyades. They later came to Earth and mixed with Earth man. Earth men then lived in the remnants of the earlier single continental land mass now known as Hyperboria. These beings produced and developed a civilization with advanced technology here on Earth.

Are You Lyran? Common Traits and Soul Signatures

With the acceleration of the Starseed awakening, increasing numbers of souls are recognizing a Lyran resonance within themselves. This is not about physical appearance — it is about the soul's memory, its instincts, and its deep patterns of being. Some commonly recognized Lyran soul traits include:

Independent and pioneering by nature. Lyran souls often feel compelled to go first — into new ideas, new territories, new ways of living. They do not wait for permission or consensus. They lead.

Strong connection to physical embodiment. Unlike some ET lineages that feel uncomfortable in the body, Lyrans often have a deep appreciation for physical existence — sensory experience, nature, food, and the tangible world.

Intense and passionate. Whether creative, intellectual, or spiritual, Lyran energy is characteristically intense. When they commit to something, they commit completely.

Ancient soul feeling. Lyran souls often carry a profound sense of age — a feeling that they have been around far longer than most, have seen civilizations rise and fall, and carry wisdom that cannot be explained by a single lifetime.

Drawn to ancient history and lost civilizations. Egypt, Sumer, Lemuria, Atlantis — these are not just historical curiosities to Lyran souls. They feel like home.

Wary of authority. The Lyran history of conflict and factionalism has left many Lyran souls with a deep mistrust of centralized authority. They prize individual sovereignty above almost all else.

"So many human-like extraterrestrials are appearing in the same age in time because many are actually linked in evolution and do apparently have a common source — the Lyran lineage."
