The Vitalizing Effects Of Feng Shui On A Senior’s Home

One-fifth of falls among senior citizens results in broken bones or a head injury, largely attributed to home hazards such as loose rugs on the floor, clutter, or not enough clearance for a walker or cane. For seniors and caregivers alike, fall prevention is a top priority. If you are in your golden years, it’s possible to breathe new positive energies into your home through the art of Feng Shui (translated as “wind-water”). You can also increase the desired flow of certain focused energies by complementing your Feng Shui with the use of crystals positioned carefully in your home. Both Feng Shui and the art of crystal healing date back at least 3,000 AD in ancient, China and have been in practical use ever since.

Where To Start The Art

As an aging senior, modifying your home through reducing clutter is a simple first step. Positioning furniture at more natural angles creates open spaces, increases natural light, and maximizes the flow of fresh air. Also, consider adding plants to each room to replenish to oxygen in your home. Fresh air and adequate lighting increase alertness and unobstructed pathways, reducing the risk of trips and falls. Clutter can create stress and depression, whereas a freshly aired, clean and aesthetically pleasing home will enhance your mood and manifest physical well-being.

Enhancing The Powers Of The Earth

Once all obstructions are cleared and there are no more “energy dams” blocking the “wind water”, it’s time to choose your crystals and place them carefully throughout your home. Choosing crystals that are pleasing to the eye has its obvious benefits, but amethyst placed on a windowsill or near a doorway can help improve concentration, clear and wakeful thinking, and perception, as well as alleviating depression. Decorate a piece of furniture along that energy stream with some jade, which is known to be good for balance and reaction time. Place some calcite in your kitchen, which is known to boost bone health. They can be gemstones or small statues. Whichever stones you choose for the concerns you have, there is a wide variety to choose from, each with their unique benefits. They are sure to enhance the positive energies and vitality of your home tenfold when complemented with the art of feng shui.

The Nature Of Your Energies

The key attributes of Feng Shui are helping let go of the past, improving physical health by enhancing peace of mind, and increasing energy and inspiration to reach your goals. Include the power of crystal healing to your feng shui, and it will only maximize the energetic potential each practice has to offer. When one positive aspect affects another, it creates a domino effect of balancing mind, body and spirit, all of which are reflected in you through the balance of your home. It’s not only about increasing the number of your years, but also the quality of them, enriched by the positive energies of your surroundings.
