What's Coming in July, August, and September

The Northern Hemisphere Summer Solstice occurs 7:42 pm PDT June 20, 3:42 am BST June 21. It's the longest day of the year in the North, said to be the time when “which direction to go” is especially strong.

It is a point of decision and reorientation that begins Summer, the season of work, play, productivity, and lots of sunshine for those of us up north. If you're "down under," remember to have a little compassion for us up here when December 21, the Winter Solstice, rolls around and we're freezing while you're enjoying the beach! What follows explores elements we all can expect to experience over the next 3 months, regardless of where we live.

The June Solstice is the end of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere, the end of Autumn in the Southern. If you’re wondering how I reconcile the seemingly opposing energies between the hemispheres, when you’re done here please take a look at The Mirroring of the Northern and Southern Hemisphere Year Cycles in Astrology. It may help readers “down under” see how the important points of seasonal change, though opposite in physical manifestation, actually have similar challenges at each point of shift.

The Solstices and Equinoxes are excellent times for looking at what began in the past 90 days, whether new growth or signs of what is ending, what is emerging and what has slipped down the timestream. In any case, the Solstices are points of radical reorientation, whether toward emotional self interest in the Northern Hemisphere or personal power in the Southern.

The next 13 weeks are a time to consolidate, integrate, stabilize, release, and work toward the next shift in seasons at the Autumnal Equinox (or Spring if you’re down under.) It is said that the charts for the Solstices and Equinoxes provide guideposts for the symbolic and actual weather that will follow in the 90 days after those points in time.

Decan and Element Distribution and the Solstice Jones Pattern

This Summer Solstice chart shows 7 planets in the first decan of their sign, 1 planet in the second decan, and 2 planets in the third decan of their signs. This indicates a three month period of activity involving a huge preponderance on the actional-material, and a diminished focus on the emotional-social and individual-mental and spiritual levels.

In this chart, we have a 3 planets in Water, 1 in Air, 4 in Earth, and 2 planets in a Fire sign. This yields a balance between hot and cool, with a preponderance of Earth and Water and a deficiency 0f Air.

Because all the planets are between early Aquarius and early Virgo, we are now in an imperfect “Bowl” Jones pattern which leads with Pluto and ends with Mars. This pattern accents divisions between what we have and what we lack, since the Bowl is always aware of what it contains versus what it doesn’t.

The Bowl pattern indicates the next 90 days will feature the sprouting of transformative Aquarian seeds and the need for “expansion through sacrifice” if we’d accomplish the closures we want. Make decisions with an eye to the future, and regard this season as a time when seeds of transformation are being unleashed, leading to “invisible help when human efforts seem to fail.”

Dispositors and Solar Aspects

In this chart, we find the Sun ruled by the Moon at 1 Taurus in its exaltation sign, which should be a pleasant quality to the season. The Moon in Taurus is ruled by Venus in Her home sign of Taurus. Mercury is ruled by the Moon, Venus rules Herself, Mars is ruled by Mercury, Jupiter is ruled by the Moon, Saturn is ruled by Mars, Uranus is ruled by Venus, Neptune’s ruled by Mars, and Pluto is ruled by Saturn.

Moon and Venus both in Taurus usually shows maximum life enjoyment, though with Venus semisquare the Sun and Jupiter we have to put our best self forward, knowing the old answers can’t solve our new questions. And because Venus is in Taurus and is the final dispositor of all the other planets, She is of crucial importance in the coming season. At this “turning point in the year,” the most powerful Solar aspects are the Sun conjunct Jupiter with both square Saturn and Neptune! This creates a huge grind wherever it falls in our charts, challenging us to be clear about our role to play, master discouraging tendencies, and see how the adventure will be worth its price when the positives are as clear as the negatives.

As Neptune will be in early Aries in every Solstice and Equinox chart for years to come, (except December 2025 when it’s at 30 Pisces), we’ll continue to have conjunctions, squares, and oppositions between the Sun and Neptune at a change of seasons for the rest of 2025 and 2026.

The Moon

The Moon rules Cancer, so it's the ruler of the Sun, Mercury, and Jupiter. In this chart we find the Sun and Moon are in a 3rd Quarter phase in the middle of the Bowl Jones pattern. The 3rd Quarter is a future-oriented phase of group building and seeing how to apply universal principles to solve practical problems. Trigger points are when planets transit 1 Leo and 16 Virgo.

The Moon is at 1 Taurus, a degree of being “tanned, rested, and ready to go” to fulfill our future destiny emerging this Summer. There is great value in getting connected to our Spiritual Brothers and Sisters in enjoyable circumstances, but with Venus ruling the Moon, keep in mind the old answers and the old methods won’t get the job done.

With Moon in Taurus square Pluto and trine Mars, do not fear saying goodbye and reorienting to something which makes you feel either more secure, or more that life is an adventure, or both. Here the Moon sextile Sun and Jupiter is released through Pluto, and the Saturn/Neptune sextile Pluto is released through the Moon. The square shows we need to practice good Leo and Scorpio skills this Summer.

Overall, the aspects show a good mix of productive energies, with the squares providing releases and/or brakes on past momentum. The Moon square Pluto indicates the need to focus on larger humanitarian interests and effective social change by releasing the seeds of future growth, in this case the emerging 20 year Aquarian ideal. This is the first Solstice since 2003 without a planet in Pisces, and with 5 planets in Aries and Taurus and 3 more in Cancer, it’s time to mobilize on our own behalf to ensure we have the substance and security to prepare for what’s coming in 2026.

Major Aspects and Configurations

There are three primary factors in the Solstice chart: the Sun/Jupiter squares to Saturn/Neptune; the stellium spanning all of Taurus, and two interlocking Yods, or “Fingers of God” at work, showing a season of multiple forces using “expansion through sacrifice” to achieve efficient focus and release the seeds of Aquarian potential.

Saturn and Neptune both sextile Pluto and all are quincunx Mars at 3 Virgo. This creates a “Kite” configuration known as a Yod, or Finger of God, squeezing out all which would hinder the effective service of Mars in Virgo, which is the nozzle directing the focus of the Yod. At the same time, Mars is sextile the Sun and Jupiter, creating another Yod with Pluto as the nozzle.

These interlocking Yods work using “expansion through sacrifice” energy to force hard adjustments to further productivity. Interestingly, Sun, Mars, and Jupiter are all personality planets focused through Transpersonal Pluto; Spiritual heavyweights Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto are all Transpersonal planets focused through the personal-social Mars. Whether personal, social, political, or global, we’ll see a lot of hard adjustments these next 13 weeks wherever we have these planets transiting in our charts, along with excellent productivity as we move into new vistas and a new understanding of our place in the bigger scheme of things.

As Saturn is ruled by Mars and both are in the Yod, the new spiritual beginnings indicated by the Aries sextile to Aquarius will have to adjust to find expression in Virgo. This will be aided by the Sun and Jupiter showing us a change in direction, change in allegiances, and a need for resilience as we move into the unknown.

Of some importance is that Uranus at 30 Taurus is septiled by Mercury, showing an emerging “fork in the road of destiny.” These energies will be set into motion in a huge way when the Sun transits 21-24 Cancer in mid-July and septiles Uranus, as well as when Venus makes the same transit in late August. Current “hot zones” of this septile are around 7-11 Aries, 28 Taurus- 2 Gemini, 20-24 Cancer, 11-15 Virgo, 3-7 Scorpio, 24-28 Sagittarius, and 16-20 Aquarius. Especially look to when the Moon transits these zones.

Another important “fork in the road” is indicated by Venus biseptile Pluto. That indicates the current Aquarian seeds are going to be spread, with old ones not working as well as new ones. Again, find new approaches and new answers. Areas most affected include 2-6 Aquarius, 23-27 Pisces, 14-18 Taurus, 6-10 Cancer, 28 Leo-2 Virgo, 20-24 Libra, and 11-15 Sagittarius. This will activate quickly with the Sun and then Jupiter moving through the Cancer zone.

If things don’t make sense, they don’t have to. The only thing that matters is to know how to focus and not get distracted by the craziness in the atmosphere. When we learn how to move gracefully through the irrationality, then we are unmoved by outer disturbances.

Other Important Factors

A spiritualizing influence is shown by Moon binovile Mercury and trine Mars, with Mercury novile Mars. This will bring many realizations out of gestation while revealing what’s cooking for the future. Active zones include 1-4 Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn, 10-14 Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius, and 20-24 Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces.

The North Node shows us the line of greatest development. This one at 23 Pisces encourages us to reveal hidden powers and our ability to make things manifest by our concentration. We began to sense these things when Neptune and Saturn crossed this part of Pisces, so continue to follow through and show your skill.

Because Venus is at 16 Taurus, the degree where Mercury went SRX in April 2023, followed by Jupiter going SRX on the same degree in September 2023, the next 13 weeks will show us the value in knowing when to turn away from old approaches. Some will experience that they are “in conscious possession of greater knowledge than can be used,” or maybe a sense of spiritual “fullness or emptiness.”

Still, with Venus where She is, it will be a productive season to enjoy relationships as much as we can, even if it means seeing things differently or with a sense of humor. Just put your best Self forward and don’t settle for less than the best you are able to achieve and receive. As Venus is the final dispositor for all the other planets, it provides a steady grounded energy keeping a lot stable and enjoyable despite the larger tumult going on.

Onward Into Summer!

There are major decisions to be made and corners to turn over the next 13 weeks. Feel the flow into new ideas and new perspectives and don’t clutch if you have to slam on the brakes. With so many planets in Taurus and Cancer, we are looking at securing conditions while putting the brakes on some things and moving in new directions. This Summer is a radical turning point in world affairs, so stay balanced, have a sense of humor, be responsible, and note the broad sweep of creative processes. We’ll confirm a lot these next weeks, and see the fulfillment of many things which promise to open doors in early 2026.

It should be a productive season, even if things don’t make sense in our Mercury and Venus ruled areas from time to time. Destiny is definitely on the move across almost many areas in our lives, so stay calm, stay open, allow your heart’s desire to come forth, and be willing to move into the unknown. This is a season of seeing what’s to come in 2026 after we finish the old era in the Autumn and early Winter of 2025.

This is a season of initiating experience, where we align with larger or more promising horizons and relationships. This is a time to interact, to explore, to discover, to listen, to communicate and to learn, turning away from those who want to argue endlessly to no end. Still after all is done, take the time to feel everything you need to feel that makes you remember life is alive, life can be fun and playful, and that “pleasure shared is pleasured doubled.”

Obviously, with 8 planets in the 110 degree span between Saturn and Mercury, the areas between 2 Aries and 22 Cancer will be a huge focus of activity wherever these signs are in our charts. Mercury guides us to our Soul by following the longing “to live life as a grand adventure” which will show us “the compelling power of all sustained desire” as you enjoy each day to the fullest. Because Saturn is such a major player at this time in history, please consider that we can elevate our Saturn response so we don’t fall into fear, paralysis, or narrow views. Our inner Saturn influences how we respond to transiting Saturn. By learning to use Saturn’s strengths in the right way, we take charge of our lives and destiny.

When all is said and done, we will know we have invisible helpers who come to our aid when our own efforts seem to fall short. The future is on the way at high speed as Saturn and Neptune in Aries shows a new collective atmosphere. This is a visionary and forward looking season where all we have to do is enjoy the process as we move into new directions and new relationships.

This season heralds the future; remember that you can be happy if you find the right point of view. Move forward into a new understanding, a new role, and a new way to enjoy the here and now. The next 90 days brings a greater adventure in both inner and outer space, as well as a deep calm and gentle enjoyment of life. This period helps us make adjustments so we’re prepared for 2026.

Mobilize on your own behalf and secure what you need so you can do what you have to do in the future. This should be a highly productive Summer of mobilization, where we can use spiritual force with precision and good humor, letting go of old rules, duties, and obligations. Gather what you need to enjoy the new adventure! Trust your relationship with self, others, and Source. We’re all in this together, and we now have wisdom at our disposal which constitutes our mandate for the future.

This is a threshold of a new way of experiencing our connectedness with all other Beings. Pluto led the way into Aquarius, and Saturn and Neptune are showing us the future. Uranus is about to enter Gemini, bringing a new explosion of ideas. For now, turn the corner, make decisions, maintain what brings you security, and if appropriate, turn a corner and go a different direction.

Because of the changing signs of Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune between July and January, open to your vast connection with all other Beings as we participate in the global leap in awareness this year! While it may get intense from time to time, it’s great for knowing at the core of our Being what life is all about.
