A Spiritual Awakening Begins!

The Sun conjuncts Uranus around 1 pm PDT on May 9, closing an old cycle of awakening and opening a new one.

This Sun conjunct Uranus happens at 19 Taurus, bringing a new surge of individual-spiritual Light/Life wherever we have 19 Taurus impacting us for the next year.

Many of you will recall 19 Taurus was where Uranus went stationary retrograde last August and then went back to 15 Taurus where it went stationary direct in January of this year. That means we hit a threshold of spiritual awakening last Summer, and had to re-trace the lessons associated with that span of Taurus. That area of our charts has had various upheavals, unexpected awakenings, and generally revolutionary conditions for the last few years.

I gave you the Sabian symbol for 19 Taurus in the article written about last August’s retrograde station in Spiritual Astrology in August 2022 – Uranus Stationary Retrograde at 19 Taurus. As the Sun is now illuminating that degree for the next year, it seems that over the next year, we’ll see the Light of the preliminary “dress rehearsal” awakenings we’ve been going through since last Summer. This is “the Light of Uranus” as we will experience it each time the transits trigger 19 Taurus, with huge expanded awareness of how to substantiate and express the spontaneity of this degree coming when Jupiter transits this degree in early April 2024, followed by the transits of the Sun, Venus, Mercury, and Mars in May and July 2024.

To remind you, themes of 19 Taurus involve BEING the spontaneity naturally arising as a result of our prior efforts at purifying our mind and interpretations. The Uranus retrograde awakened new energies as a result of our examining the musty corners of our minds, and following any discontent back to its source to revolutionize our thinking during late 2022’s review of our process of mental housecleaning and our ability to mobilize our spiritual power to counter the materialism in our world.

We have been in a period of seeing how the old answers and approaches are inadequate to secure what we’re trying to secure. Since Uranus’ direct station in January, we’ve been in a period of building character as prelude to a new way of confirming our individuality, both in action and within a social or emotional context. The Uranian “surges of spontaneity” since last Summer have given us opportunities to clean out old ideas so we can express a natural self-expression, new power, and new understanding of the inadequacy of measuring the emergent new by the rapidly fading past.

So take a look at how your natural spontaneity has been coming forth in some way since August 2022, and trust your ability to revolutionize your life and mind through the awakenings to come. This can bring a greater freedom of action, new forms of self-expression, new potentials, and our ability to “rework our possibilities through employing new powers.”
